Foundation Transition Program

Starting school is an exciting and important milestone in each child's life but for new Families especially, it can be very overwhelming. Therefore we believe that having a positive, supportive and smooth introduction to school is paramount for children and their famililes.

During Term Four, the St Robert's staff invite parents and carers to a 'Foundation Parent Information Evening'. Which outlines how we wish to provide a successful and happy adjustment from kinder to school.

In Term Four, we welcome our new Foundation children to participate in four transition sessions. We begin with meeting their classroom teachers & classmates, and a school tour to familiarise themselves with the St Robert's environment and structure.

During transition sessions, children will engage in classroom activities including literacy, physical education, games, and arts & crafts. On the last transition session, the children will meet their Year 6 Buddy, who help our new Foundation students get settled into their school life.
